I’ve been drawing since I was a small child; making images in the mud and sand, moving my food around my plate into shapes, drawing portraits of my family members. My need to transfer ideas and images floating though my mind onto paper has been with me since I can remember. In school the margins of my assignments were full of doodles; really the only way I could focus through a lecture. I happened to take an intro to drawing class for an elective at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR that I felt this little spark of … OH this is where I belong.

From there I kept taking art classes; figure painting, color theory, intermediate drawing … I was hooked. I transferred to Colorado State University where I completely dove into the art program and got my BA in Integrated Visual Studies, mostly concentrating in drawing and printmaking. I love creating. It’s both meditative and challenging for me.

Now I divide my time working on ranches, fishing boats, and creating. I have a 35mm film camera that I use to take most of my reference photos for drawings and paintings.
